The Rubbing Game

Well, with my belly so big, its with me everywhere I go, and with two squirming babies in it, it's the most amusement I have when I'm sitting alone. I have this game I play with the babes these past couple weeks, when i feel/see a little foot, knee, elbow, or hand pushing out, i rub it until it disappears. I wait until it appears in a place near where it was before and do the same thing..this can entertain me and i assume the babes because they keep kicking, punching, and pushing out as i rub their little limbs. Maybe its just they are more annoyed, because sometimes ill acually watch as they roll and see this huge lump go across my stomach...creepy yet fun to watch!

33 Week Checkup

Well, I had my 33-week checkup Thursday with my Dr., which started out as just an ultra sound assessment that turned into 7 hours of clinic/hospital wait. RRR! The ultra sound went great; both babies are growing good and healthy. After measuring everything, the Dr. estimated that baby A (Layla) now weighs 4.7lbs, in the 53rd percentile and is still in the head down position good for a vaginal birth (her head is resting right on my cervix!) Baby B (Aidan) weighs in at 4.3 pounds, in the 40 percentile and his head is right down by Layla's meaning he is getting in a good position to come out the baby shoot too, on the ultra sound you could see that they were facing each other, very neat! So I am caring 9 pounds of baby already.... For a precaution, Doc, decided even though my cervix is normal, and not too close to delivery he decided that I should get a steroids shot in order to develop the babies lungs. He says I have to keep them in at least till 34 in a half weeks in order for them to feel comfortable delivering the babies, otherwise I would be flown to Denver where there is better care for premature babies. So nurses and Dr.s are thinking the beginning of Aug. may now be the arrival. Hopefully they wait till 35weeks (Aug.4) or later because that is when the pediatrician says they will do just fine. After the shot I was to get a non-stress test, in order to track the babies heart beats (which was a chore they did not want to hold still for the belts wrapped around!) and check for any contractions that the steroids may cause. Right as they were ready to take me off the machine at the clinic I began having some contractions and they decided to send me off to the hospital where a newer machine was to monitor longer. AWWWWWWW this is when I began to get very irritable and wanted to just go HOME! We talked to a pediatrician, which was the one that my OB/GYN highly recommended, and i liked him, very flamboyent (hehe). Its encouraging to know that at the delivery there will be 2 pediatricians there to check out each baby. Mom and I grabbed a quick bite (hadn't eaten since 9am and it was now 430) and headed to the hospital, ooh I hate hospitals! After some more monitoring, I was given some prescriptions that help keep the contractions at a minimum and finally released at 8pm. It was atleast good to see the nursery, recovery room and the OR which i would be delivering in. Soon as I thought I was out of the clear, I was wrong, the Dr. decided to put me on mild bed rest, well at least I made it almost to Aug!!! I am still able to get around the house, eat, shower, sit, what not, resting the majority of the time, and no errands. Being lazy is usually no problem for me until it is mandatory then for some reason I just want to go go go! Anyway I got my 2nd steroid shot Friday and was in and out of the clinic, which was a lot nicer than the day before. After waiting 48 hours after the first shot, and asking the Dr.s permission I decided to go back home with mom where there is air conditioning and I can relax a bit better and watch my twin birth shows on discovery health. So here I am!

CHI vs CHI

Here is a picture which shows the faces of 2 meloncoly pups. What all could have been avoided, brought them here tonight. What started out as a friendly game, that soon escalated into a fight due to jealousy, age difference, stubborness, and bad tempers. Zoey began by pushing Abby over the edge by jumping, barking, and playfully nipping at her throughout the day. Abby soon lost patience throwing the first real bite, Zoey's fight response kicked in, her short temper which we have seen so much lately took charge against Abby's occasional crabbiness. After a brawl between the 2, consisting of growls, barks, squeels, and wrestling, was interupted by Mom quickly raising Abby out of reach, the 2 were soon confined to their cages where they have been since. Over the past couple hours, they have had plenty of time to think about how silly the fight was, and now show their shame, embarrassment, and sadness through the caged doors.

Tummy Baby Carrier

Here are some pictures of my showing tummy. The first was taken April 3rd when i first started to get a slight bump. The second is last week, July 11. There is a bit of a difference in size!

Yay Baby Stuff!

Well, we are starting to get everything together for what we will need right away when the babes leave their home inside me and venture out into the world of sucking, sleeping, crying, and pooping. Today the diaper bag my mama bought for us arrived, and yes it is stylish and manly enough for kendall! YAY! hehe it looks just like a backpack but has plastic pouches all in the inside and outside so easily cleanable. (and everything else that comes with a diaper bag.) Also our baby monitors came in the mail with this, they are pretty nice, with 2 monitors that plug in or use batteries. This will be nice because then 2 of us can be listening at once or one can always be in the bedroom plugged in and the other one on one of us. The last thing i got today mama bought for me, a pair of shorts(its so HOT!) that i can wear now and after since they are stretchy, they are pink, and very cute:) Thats all for now, i have my doctors appointment thursday, so mama will take me to that since karen took my car back on Sunday when she left. Ill get another ultra sound, and find out how much they weigh again, which hopefully will be enough that will put me at ease if they do decide to come before 37 weeks(which is considered full term for twins). :D

Silly Karen

Lost

After watching the first season of lost last november in one whole weekend i got pretty into the show, however since it was already november, the first half of the season was already half over, i had missed some big parts. So i did the hard thing and decided to wait till this September when the 2nd season would come out on dvd and quickly catch up. Reality check i doubt the babies would allow that now that i think of it...Luckily they have been replaying the second season all summer, however again i worked on wednesdays nights or have been out of town. ARG! Thankgoodness for Emily, yesterday she came over with 3 video tapes full of lost, probably around 8 hours worth. No tivo but you can fast forward the commercials!! I sat down yesterday at 3 and watched them up until 830. I was on the edge of my seat, i love this show it is such a "thriller" as pa would say. I just keep getting pulled more and more into the show and cant wait to watch an another episode! Amber will appreciate this becasue she is another lost fan. I just wonder, they mentioned that there was a tail end of the plane and the middle section of the plane...so i havnt yet seen the front of the plane, is that going to be something in the next season? hmmm.

Aidan 28weeks Ultra Sound

Here is just a snap shot from the ultra sound i had taken 3 weeks ago, Aidan you could see really well, Layla was facing away from us so we didn't get to see her face this time. If you look you can see Aidans face clearly, his lips, nose, eyes, and notice his arm right in front of his face and his hand and foot above his head...he looks pretty crammed!! :)

31 Week Update

Well , i went in for a quick checkup today, and everything is going great. Im feeling fine and the doctor and nurses are so glad to see im still up and around. The babies heartbeats were strong and normal he said, and since i am doing so well he said skip next week and come in in 2 weeks again, unless i feel anything unusual or get any symptoms of preterm labor. So 2 more weeks and i get another ultra sound! im excited. im in the single digits now of weeks left, if i go full term its only 9 more weeks! WHEW!

Sound it out!

I just had to post this funny story even though it is a little perverted. It seems that every public play ground has some raunchy writing on it that some teenagers thought would be funny, well at the park on Monday we all became aware of the writing at the park we were at with Kendalls neices. As the girls played we all just sat around and talked in such, when all of a sudden another little girl was yelling at her mom from atop the play ground. At first we didnt think much of it and then it caught our attention the second time she repeated herself. "Mom! What does d-i-l-d-o spell?" after repeating this twice her mom shouted "RABBIT!!" the little girl continued, "no it doesnt what does d-i-l-d-o spell?" That is when her mom snapped her fingers and is like get over here! We all couldnt help but laugh and be relieved that it wasnt one of US that had to explain the perversion.

4th of July Weekend

Well, my weekend started on Friday night when mama came down to visit me before heading to nebraska. I had a lot of fun with her and Karen, and we also finally bought me a nice breast pump, which will be very handy since ill be working a couple nights a week and going to class next semester. Im really glad i got to spend time with her and karen before i left:) lifted my spirits and sure cured my boredom, even though i normally dont work on the weekends, just knowing i was done with work for probably the rest of the summer, i was instantly bored. Luckily today i got an email from the foundation and i can start working again through July doing wrong number research!!YAY! plus it will be great for a little extra money for the babies arrival!

On saturday i went to Tracy, a highschools friends wedding, it was great seeing everybody again. Tracy, Haley and i all got together to get a picture of the matching tattooes we got together the summer before college, i had a lot of fun, and really liked that the wedding itself was outside and was less than 20 minutes, i think EVERY wedding should be this way hehe. Reception is the fun part anyway.

I left the wedding a little later than i had anticpated so i didn't get to my nebraska destination till after 10 and i was tired!! But excited to see Kendall, and all of his family again. His brother, sister in law and 2 nieces came up from AZ and it was good to see them again, there one daughter Ashlyn insisted on dressing like me one day complete with little anklet braclets to match mine, hehe very cute! IT was a good time and i even got to go swimming at the lake one day, it felt so good! I was able to watch the firework show there and plenty more just shot off of the ground by kendalls nephews and brother. Im glad i made it home good, and nothing went wrong, i was nervous because of preterm labor being such a issue! Well that is my weekend~! i have a few pictures so will have to put those on here next time.
