Layla Walks!

Hurray! Here is Laylabear taking steps without ANY help at all! I was watching her across the room and she took 4 steps on her own, so then we coaxed her to do it again! I have a feeling things are going to get a whole lot harder to keep out of her reach...now just to get Aidan walking without the use of the walker! :)

True Wyoming Concert

Gretchen Wilson, Big in Rich, and Cowboy Troy all in one concert is where we went last night for Frontier Days. If that isn't enough fun right there? Put it in the Rodeo Arena, add calf deep mud, pouring rain, and a ton of people around you...Now that is some fun! Haha! Gina and Geoff came over to hang out with the kids so we could go, we rode up with Chris and Emily, and Shebli and Nikki were there too but we never ran into them. I ran into plenty of other people from my hometown which a few of them i really did care to see! I was excited. I'm glad we were able to go and heck its frontier days, you have to hear some good country music! :) It was a good date!

Who's Ready for Football?

KaBoom!

CRACK!! an unbelievable loud "crack" noise is what i heard this afternoon, outside my window a bright flash, a thud against the house, followed by the sounds of leaves falling. I about jumped out of my skin. I glanced outside to see the neighbors tree had been struck by lightning(see picture one) I immedietly jumped up and ran into the kids room since that is where the thud had been, and they were napping. Layla was up playing in her crib but Aidan was just laying there still. I shook him, and with a rather shocked look he woke up. Whew, i was worried that something might have come through the window. The thud turned out to be this 4 foot piece of tree that had hit our house. The other picture shows a just a quarter of the debree that was left from the tree, it was all over our yard, the side walk, the street, our roof, and even had shot across our backyard into our front yard where pieces laid by my car!!! Crazy stuff, the lightning was then followed by crazy flooding again up to our yard. Love Wyoming Weather, comes out of no-where!

No More Gummy Bears!

Guess what? Finally after 11 months of just pure gums, Layla and Aidan both popped a tooth out of their gums yesterday! Guess it's a good thing they are choosing to do it at the same time. We first discovered Layla's when i noticed all day she had been acting different. Clinging to her Eeyore(That girl wont go anywhere without it), she stood alone across the room from everybody, smelling his tail(a nervous, sad habit of hers). A mom knows when her little girl is "off". So we decided it must be her teeth, we knew it was time, as i was feeling her gums with oral gel, i discovered her bottom left incisor had popped through! Now Aidan has had his top right K9 tooth ready to pop through for weeks now, Katie discovered that, but we finally gave up, but he has been really fussy and every little thing aggravates him, so feeling around last night sure enough his little k9 popped through, same day as Layla! Crazy stuff, guess they really like staying in step with each other.

School of Walk pt. 2

Ok, so it works better outside! Here is Aidan showing a quick demonstration of his new found fun of walking, even with help they feel pretty independent now! :D

Mommy School of Walk!

This video is REAL short but it is something that will be appreciated more than a picture would! The kids loved this little walker thing Amber had for Adrianna, so she let me borrow it so they can practice walking!

Yay Zoo!

The kids and i went to the zoo this weekend, Kendall had to work so couldn't go with us. We had quite the group with Amber, Greg, and Adrianna, My Mom and Dad brought Ebony, and then Karen, Layla, Aidan and Me. This was the first time that all the cousins have been together on my side, in the picture is Layla, Ebony, Aidan, and Adrianna.
The kids favorite animal was the big giraffe, they stared at him for a wile, and Layla kept pointing at him. Here is Layla Aidan and Ebony pushing them.
Here is one of the polar bears relaxing in the shade. He seems to really enjoy watching the people walking by.
We had to take a break after riding the train, everybody else went and road the on the Carisol, but the kids were getting real hot and i decided it would be best to go sit in a grassy area and allow them to stretch their legs and have a snack, so My dad helped watch them with me.
Here is Layla enjoying a penguin swimming by, i am so proud that she liked watching the penguins!! :) The weekend was a lot of fun and the kids were pretty well behaved the whole time, considering their whole schedule was totally out of whack for 3 days straight. Hopefully we can get things back together for them! :)

Frontier Days

Frontier Days officially starts today! Yay! I hope to make it down this year, if i have to go with friends or bring the kids to just see all of the fun stuff they have there, i just want to go. So today i thought it would be fun for the kids to get dressed as a little cowgirl/cowboy! Layla actually had a little western dress, but Aidan just decided he liked to wear the hat! hehe.
This weekend Kendall and i are headed in separate directions, since he said he would work on Sunday(forgot about the ZOO!!!) he is going to make an appearance at the wedding in Casper we were going to go to together, and i'm just going to go to Denver with the kid and Karen so we can go to the zoo on Sunday. I thought it would be too much to drive straight through alone after the wedding to Denver with 2 fussy babes. The zoo will be fun, it will be the first time that Layla, Aidan, and their only 2 cousins on my side will be together in one place. :)

Lake McConaughy

This is just a video i found from last weekend, it shows how much the kids liked the water. Aidan doesn't know what to do in the waves, Layla well, she figured out hmm ill just lick the water off my hands! Watch and you will see her do that! Crazy kid! :)

Movie Selection

Here is Layla and Aidan getting into mischief...They did this about 3 times, no matter how many barricades i set up or how many movies i move out of the way, they just took the whole shelf of movies down! Little punks! haha. They later did the same thing to everything on their changing table, and by the time i was done putting that all back, they were in our bedroom pulling off the blankets! It is hard to stay one step ahead of the two!

Double Trouble

Layla and Aidan have been getting into EVERYTHING lately, the funny thing is, they encourage each other. If one takes off toward something, the other either joins in or runs to something else "off limits" in order to distract me. I swear they have a plan! No matter how many barricades i set up, they still find ways around them or through them. Lately they really like breaking the barricade to get to the screen and push it out, so then i have to round them up and fix the screen. The pictures are of them playing by the door watching outside, they love watching students walk by, if i catch them in time i can put the glass down to save me time putting the screen back in. Also lately, they don't seem to interested in me playing with them, i can sit there and they will crawl and pull on me together, but if i try to join in their playing i get blank stares, and "the look" from ms. attitude (Layla is getting quite the little drama queen attitude). I will say no in a firm voice and ooh Layla shakes her head no! Oh-well, guess i should enjoy that they like playing together!
The rest of my time has been spent planning the kids b-day party :) We are pretty excited, we got most of the invitations passed out last night, and then the rest we gave to the friends who have stopped by in the last couple days. Wish i knew more babies, hehe i think maybe one or 2 may come. oh-well, i guess it is mostly for us since the kids won't remember it...

To Grandmother's House and The Lake We Go!

We headed to Nebraska this weekend on Friday morning to spend time with the kids' is Grandma Gail. They had a blast, and were pasted out soon as we left this afternoon. Here is Aidan playing with Kitty, he chased this poor cat EVERYWHERE! He really has a love for animals, he also chased a few dogs at the beach! hehe.
Layla wasn't as interested in the cat as Aidan, but she really enjoyed her Grandma Gail's pretty flowers, Aidan pretty much tore them a part.
After taking a dip in the water at Lake McConaughy Layla crawled onto the sand and ate some before we could catch her, so we took her back to the water, where she proceeded to lick her hand of the lake water...uck!
Here is Aidan walking in the water, with some help from daddy. He absolutely loved the water, we took them out pretty deep for them to "attempt" to float on their tummies with our help:)
Here are the two just enjoying the water, it was pretty warm and sunny so we didn't stay too long. I'm sure they would have stayed all day if we would have let them! It was a good visit, i am glad we made it up there, it had been way to long!

Babysitters and Weddings

7-7-07 producing record numbers of weddings this year, and of course, we went to one out of 3 we were invited to. So My mom, and sister offered to watch the kids all Saturday, Saturday night, and half of Sunday, since the wedding was in Story Wyoming, a 4 hours away! Of course my dad and brother in law Zach were there too, but the main babysitters was my mom and sister, ooh yes and my niece Ebony who was a big help in keeping the kids occupied, and feeding. Real nice of them, i am so grateful, because not only were we able to enjoy the whole ceremony and reception with no interruptions from kids, we enjoyed the time with each other too! It is not too often that Kendall and I get to enjoy time alone with no worries, but we sure were missing the kids, the drive back to my parents house took FOREVER because we were so excited to see them!
The ceremony was outside, beautiful may i add, however no sooner had we all gotten under the tent for the reception the rain came. But not enough to ruin our fun, we all had a wonderful dinner, danced the night away, and enjoyed the time with our friends! Kendall and I had a lot of fun, Chris and Emily met up with us outside of Casper, well more or less we caught up to them since we took different roads to there, haha, and Nikki had been up there since Thursday helping. We all had a blast, and I'm real glad we all could make it up. We were able to stay the night in the bunk house, and had roommates Jesse and Nikki, and then shared a nice breakfast and the opening of cards/presents with Matt and Shebli the next morning.
Here is Emily and I pimping it with the groomsmen: Poch, Patrick, and Rob, all SAE brothers of Kendall and Chris (Matt is also an SAE brother).
Of course we had to get our picture with the gorgeous bride Shebli and the handsome Groom Matt. It was a great time and i am real glad we were there to be able to share such an important time in their lives! :)

Happy 4th Of July and Flashflooding!

Here is Aidan waving his flags proudly! Yesterday i walked the kids to Washington park to the Freedom has a Birthday celebration. The kids and i were all decked out in red white and blue. We picked up Emily on the way there and we all stayed there for a good 2 hours, the kids missed a naptime but were very good. We saw Kendall there with his Realitor's booth, and his boss gave the kids each a flag. We waited for Kendall to be done and then walked home together. We had a BBQ later in the afternoon, and the kids enjoyed playing in their pool. No sooner did we get the kids out and dressed, and the BBQ cleaned up... a storm came in fast and well the pictures below are from the flash flooding we had, of course they are after the rain had stopped so it was a higher than in these pictures. Pretty crazy. We had to sweep water away from the basement window in order to prevent flooding there. (oh and our garage still leaks despite the new roof).
The Monte and Nikki's car out in the water. You can see it is all the way across the street, and the sidewalk is no longer there, it went to the bottom of our yard (there is a 2 foot hill).
Here is the water flowing up on to the sidewalk in front of our house, you can see the water rushing by in the corner, on the other side of the house it was really splashing up against kendalls car as it rushed by. This all lasted a good 20 minutes and then it all went down.

Panning for Gold

Sunday afternoon Kendall and I headed up to the Snowy Range near Fox Park to visit my dad camping up there, he does it most years at this time, and just enjoys panning for gold and the wildlife nearby. Notice Aidan in an actual framed backpack carrier? Yes Emily and I found one for 5$ at a garage sale, yes a good buy. Now just to find Layla one, i just used the other bigger soft carrier we had on my back.
Here is Aidan watching Kendall gold pan, Aidan really enjoyed just watching everybody play in the river.
Karen and Zach followed us up to Fox Park since we knew how to get there, Here they are with Kendall, and my dad, he is teaching everybody how to properly do things :)

Here is Zach, Layla, and I, this was before i got her carrier adjusted up higher on my back. She later threw her hat in the river, luckily Karen was downstream to catch it as it floated by! What a little sneak, she always tries to throw her hat off when nobody is looking!
