Happy 4th Of July and Flashflooding!

Here is Aidan waving his flags proudly! Yesterday i walked the kids to Washington park to the Freedom has a Birthday celebration. The kids and i were all decked out in red white and blue. We picked up Emily on the way there and we all stayed there for a good 2 hours, the kids missed a naptime but were very good. We saw Kendall there with his Realitor's booth, and his boss gave the kids each a flag. We waited for Kendall to be done and then walked home together. We had a BBQ later in the afternoon, and the kids enjoyed playing in their pool. No sooner did we get the kids out and dressed, and the BBQ cleaned up... a storm came in fast and well the pictures below are from the flash flooding we had, of course they are after the rain had stopped so it was a higher than in these pictures. Pretty crazy. We had to sweep water away from the basement window in order to prevent flooding there. (oh and our garage still leaks despite the new roof).
The Monte and Nikki's car out in the water. You can see it is all the way across the street, and the sidewalk is no longer there, it went to the bottom of our yard (there is a 2 foot hill).
Here is the water flowing up on to the sidewalk in front of our house, you can see the water rushing by in the corner, on the other side of the house it was really splashing up against kendalls car as it rushed by. This all lasted a good 20 minutes and then it all went down.

I am so thankful you were home when this happened and not walking!! God is watching out for you :) maybe you heard on the news about that mom pushing her baby in a stroller and a flash flood came up quick and swept her baby away. The situation was such she didn't have a chance, because she was walking along a river that had tall cement walls on the sides, she had no where to go. I can't remember if the mom suvived, but I think she did. Did you also hear on the news about that girl at a kentucky amusment park? she was on that ride you like to go on that raises you way up in the air and then just drops you down. Well a cable broke and it wrapped around her ankles somehow and tore both her feet off! can you imagine that? I cant hardly imagine such a terrible thing. remember when I waited in line for hours to go on that ride with you and then at the last minute changed my mind and got out of line? I am just full of good news today aren't I? I love you!!!
